Halbo van der Klaauw

Halbo cut his teeth in the creative and VFX industry as a trainee at Valkieser Capital Images, specialising first in edit and later in VFX for the commercial market in the Netherlands. After nine years, having thoroughly caught the VFX bug, he jumped ship to Vancouver and Rainmaker Digital Pictures where he worked on high profile film and TV projects including Free Willy and The X Files and picked up two Emmy Award Nominations along the way.

In 2007 Halbo co-founded international, creativity-driven, production outfit The Ambassadors together with the best in business in VFX, Sound, Edit and Design. Now, The Ambassadors has reputation for nurturing the best talent in the industry and an innovative approach to creating work that gets people talking and puts brands on the map.
The Ambassadors’ team of 40 best-in-class experts, in the fields of edit, sound, visual effects, design and animation and grading, is based in the creative hub of Amsterdam but adopts a decidedly borderless outlook on creativity and technology. The team collaborates with brands and agencies such as G-STAR, Casio, TBWA, DDB & Tribal Worldwide, BBDO, Y&R, EuroRSCG, JWT, Wieden & Kennedy and Sid Lee. Clients are based as far afield as Russia, USA, The Lebanon and Kuwait.
When Halbo is not bounding round The Ambassadors offices, he puts his enviable unlimited stores of energy to good use snowboarding, skippering The Ambassadors boat on the canals of Amsterdam or backpacking around Thailand with his wife and kids.
