Miguel Fuertes
Animation supervisor and director. Started to draw and illustrate professionally 34 years ago. He started working on Hanna-Barbera TV series during his University years. 24 years ago, left behind his own animation studio to work with Steven Spielberg in England, where he learned from the best people in the industry, and hasn´t stop learning since then, moving around the world working in different features until the present.
Miguel’s opportunity came when ILM offered him to join them into the world of computer graphics His knowledge of 2D animation, ideas, passion, and teaching skills, soon made him animation supervisor and director at the George Lucas company, where he had the chance to work with directors as Stephen Sommers, Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, and Ang Lee, for films that were nominated for Academy Awards.
After, he continued his work with directors like George Miller, in his Award winning feature “Happy Feet” and actually working with another Oscar winner: Juan Campanella in his movie “Metegol”
He’s also pursuing other interests like psychology, teaching, non verbal communication, music and writing, but his main one is to create enticing stories with interesting and deep characters to captivate audiences. He likes to think out of the box and to bring new aspects, angles and ideas to a world deprived of real beauty. He is also passionate about creating nurturing environments with teams that have the same goal.
