What Happens When...

...we break the rules of design?
...we take control of the applications [Illustrator, Photoshop] we use to design?
...we find inspiration in the real world and develop new creative applications based on those ideas?
...we no longer have to use a mouse or haptic device to design with?

The creative applications and tools we use help define how we express ourselves. During the design process, we use the explicit features and functions of these applications as extensions of our creative self, which in turn imposes constraints upon us, inherited by the limitations of the applications themselves. What is not commonly known, however, are the implicit features and functions of applications like Illustrator and Photoshop and how to access and manipulate them in order for you to extend what is creatively possible.

Join Dr. Woohoo as he demonstrates and shares the inspiration, stream-of-conscious thoughts and stories that have influenced his custom generative applications, plug-ins and scripts that exploit these implicit features and functions. Woohoo will point you to development resources that will enable you to hijack these applications yourself. Finally, Woohoo will demonstrate how to push the printing process further in terms of preparing and using custom art papers for inkjet printers, mixing media and more. If you attend, you might walk away from this session either inspired, with a free plug-in, a signed art print, and/or with a mind that feels bent.
